Job Description

The Chief of Patient Care (CNO) provides the highest level senior leadership to develop, plan, and evaluate the functions and activities of assigned areas including: Emergency Department, Perioperative, Medical/Surgical, Maternal/Child, Acute Care, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Nursing, Quality, Risk Management, Anesthesia, Nursing Education, and Medical Staff Services. The Chief of Patient Care (CNO) assumes responsibility for nursing practice, patient care, Quality, and Risk Management. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief of Patient Care (CNO) supports Samaritan Healthcare’s Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. The Chief of Patient Care (CNO) provides expert professional assistance in nursing-related matters and works collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer/President (CEO), the Board of Commissioners, and other administrators in development, formation, and implementation of strategic plans.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: BSN required, Master’s Degree in Clinical and/or Administrative Nursing Administration preferred. Current acute care clinical practice. Minimum of 5 years administrative leadership experience in a similar position. Current licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse. Proficiency in written and verbal communication. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
