Job Description

The Refill Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timing refill of medications for the patients of Samaritan Clinic as a member of the Family Medicine Care Team. The primary responsibilities include obtaining prescription prior-authorizations, placement of pending prescription renewals by protocol to assist providers, and assisting with medication reconciliation through pre-visit planning calls to patients. In addition, the Refill Coordinator utilizes knowledge of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy practice to assist in medication purchasing, clerical, and record-keeping functions for Samaritan Clinic.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED. Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician license in good standing. 2-3 years’ prior Retail Pharmacy experience required. Computer experience with Pharmacy systems. Computer familiarity with placing EHR orders for medications. Knowledge of pharmacy benefits management including payer pre-authorization practices. Medical Assistant-Certification preferred. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire
