Job Description

Responsible for administrative leadership for the support areas of Accounting, Patient Financial Services, Admitting, Health Information Management and Materials Management. Under the direction of the CAO, this position is responsible for implementing and maintaining accounting procedures that result in the safeguarding and accountability of assets, providing reliable information and controlling access to assets. Responsible for the annual system-wide budget, the long-term strategic financial plan and all auditing requirements of the hospital district. The individual in this position may be asked to assume the duties of the CAO in their absence. Also responsible for assuring the departments he/she leads develop and achieve goals and objectives, which are compatible with those of the strategic plan of Samaritan Healthcare.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting. Masters degree in Business Administration Preferred. Five or more years of Accounting/Finance experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Five or more years of supervisory experience. CPA preferred. Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to the Board, Management
