Job Description

As a Phlebotomist, you are responsible for receiving clients, scheduling appointments, answering and directing telephone calls and mail, assisting clients in completing any necessary forms. You will also enter Physician orders and retrieves test results from the Laboratory information system; File reports and enters manual charges for proper patient billing. In this role, you may also be required to work with word processing and database computer programs. You will maintain patient logs.

In this role you will perform skin puncture, venipuncture, arterial punctures, verify correct patient identification and proper specimen collection, you may centrifuge and process specimens, package, and store specimens to be sent to another laboratory for testing. You may also assist Medical Technologists with other duties as allowed by regulation. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Certificate of completion of coursework from an accredited Phlebotomy education program preferred, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Must obtain Washington State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification. Minimum of one (1) year hospital experience preferred. Experience with computers (MS Word, Excel) preferred. Current CPR certification – Healthcare Provider (HCP) level.

Full time; 40 hrs/wk
