Job Description

This position is responsible for receiving clients, scheduling appointments, answering and directing telephone calls and mail, assisting clients in completing any necessary forms. Enters Physician orders and retrieves test results from the Laboratory information system. Files reports and enters manual charges for proper patient billing. May be required to work with word processing and data base computer programs. Maintains patient logs. Performs skin puncture, venipuncture, arterial punctures, verifying correct patient identification and proper specimen collection, may centrifuge and process specimens, package and store specimens to be sent to another laboratory for testing. May assist Medical Technologists with other duties as allowed by regulation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Certificate of completion of coursework from an accredited Phlebotomy education program preferred, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Must obtain Washington State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification. Minimum of one (1) year hospital experience preferred. Experience with computers (MS Word, Excel) preferred. Current CPR certification – Healthcare Provider (HCP) level.

Full-time; 40 hrs/wk
