Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for protecting all property of Samaritan Healthcare and all employees and other persons on said property, within confines and limitations normal to a healthcare facility located in Central Washington. The Security Officer I must be on a continuous patrol of grounds and buildings, and maintain a keen sense of awareness, at all times, to detect suspicious persons, malfunctioning equipment, safety or fire hazards, cluttered areas, unauthorized vehicles, etc. The Security Officer I is in constant contact with the POE Care Manager or switchboard operator by radio/telephone/cell phone and must respond immediately to a request for assistance. In case of arrests or suppression of unruly persons, the Security Officer I must coordinate with local law enforcement authorities and remain within the hospital’s legal bounds in all actions. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Three (3) years of civil law enforcement experience preferred. Previous industrial security and/or law enforcement training. Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
